Brief:

Smart Commercial Solar is pleased to announce a position for an experienced PV Project Engineer to join our Projects and Service Team. This role will be located in our North Sydney office, with regular travel to sites, and will be reporting to the Head of Engineering.

Responsibilities 

The project engineer will be responsible for the design of a portfolio of projects from 100 kW to several MW, to relevant Australian standards and guidelines, and provide support to the project manager in all aspects of the delivery of these projects. Specific responsibilities include: 

• Creating site plans, SLDs and monitoring schematics, in line with client and technical requirements 
• Completion of documentation for connection to the grid, structural assessments and local council requirements 
• Building the BOM for each project 
• Completion of all technical project documentation. 

Key Attributes of the role:

The ideal candidate will: 

• • Have an understanding of the electricity industry and a sound understanding of photovoltaic systems
  • Be CEC accredited for design of grid connected systems, or be willing to complete the accreditation process while working at Smart 
  • Have some experience in the design of grid connected PV systems 
  • Be an independent thinker, with an ability to identify procedural and technical issues and suggest workable solutions 
  • Be organised and able to work on multiple projects at one time 
  • Able to maintain excellent internal and external working relationships, including those with clients, contractors, and suppliers 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills over both email and phone 
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite 
  • Be ready to hit the ground running
